I brought the students some exercises in order to practice the present tense for the first group and it was an occasion to work on some specific patterns that you can help with at home, like the using of J' before a vowel: J'écoute / J'adore / J'espère. It was good work for today so with ended up with a word-searching game, baccalauréat-style.

This afternoon, we reviewed in details the characteristics of the three verb groups, insisting on their identification and on conjugation models for the first and the second ones. Reviewing our high-frequency words, we then went for a verb hunt, finishing with a word game, always about verbs.

Mercredi o6 mars

After using verbs in sentences to get used to them and to see how different they could be in a sentence, it was time to look at them in details; so I introduced the characteristics of the three groups, and we played a word game to identify verbs and their endings.
